How I Work
I start by finding out why the grout failed. Cracked grout is usually a symptom: movement, a missing expansion joint, or a hollow tile underneath. Regrouting over an unresolved cause just fails again, so I check before I quote.
Old grout is raked out to a proper depth, not skimmed over. A thin skim of new grout on top of old never bonds and lifts within months. I remove enough to let the new grout key in properly.
Silicone lines are stripped back completely, the joint cleaned and dried, then run in one clean pass with a mould-resistant sanitary silicone. No smearing new silicone over old.
