How I Work
Every stone is different. Before I lay a single piece I know what adhesive it needs, whether it requires pre-sealing, and whether the substrate is appropriate. Getting this wrong with expensive stone is not recoverable.
Natural stone moves with temperature and moisture. Movement joints are not optional — I specify and install them correctly.
After installation I advise on the right sealer and application method for the specific stone. Some stones need sealing before grouting — others after. This matters.
What Affects the Cost of Marble & Natural Stone?
Every job is different. These are the main factors that affect the price — I explain all of them during the quote visit so there are no surprises.
- Stone type — marble is more labour-intensive than limestone or slate
- Finish — polished stone shows every substrate imperfection and needs more preparation
- Pre-sealing — some stones must be sealed before grouting, adding time
- Pattern complexity — bookmatching or intricate layouts take significantly longer
- Material cost — natural stone is considerably more expensive per m² than porcelain
