About Bromley Tiler
44 years of professional tiling. City & Guilds qualified. No subcontractors — every job carried out by me or my relative Paul.
44 Years of Professional Tiling
I've been tiling professionally since the early 1980s. In that time I've worked on an exceptional range of projects — from everyday domestic bathrooms to heritage work including Buckingham Palace and the law courts.
I hold a City & Guilds qualification in tiling, which covers the correct technical approach to every aspect of the trade: adhesive selection, substrate preparation, setting out, waterproofing, and the right materials for each job.
Forty-four years in the trade means I've seen what goes wrong when shortcuts are taken — and I know how to avoid every one of them. That knowledge is what you're hiring when you hire me.
How I Work
No surprises, no shortcuts. The same approach on every job.

Careful Preparation
Substrate checked and prepared. The right adhesive selected. Setting out done before the first tile goes down.
Clean Finish
Thorough clean-up at the end of each day and at completion. I leave the space as I found it — with better tiles.
Heritage & Prestige Projects
Over 44 years I've worked on some exceptional projects that required a higher level of precision, material knowledge, and discretion than typical domestic work. These include:
- Tiling work at Buckingham Palace
- The law courts
- Period and listed property domestic interiors
- High-value marble and natural stone installations
I mention these not to impress, but to make a practical point: the level of care and technical accuracy required for a prestige project is the same level I bring to every domestic bathroom, kitchen floor or hallway. The scale changes. The standards don't.
Exclusively Domestic — By Choice
I work exclusively on domestic properties. I made that decision deliberately, and I've stuck to it. Domestic work demands a different kind of attention — respect for someone's home, careful protection of their belongings, clean working throughout, and a finish they'll live with every day.
Commercial tiling is about speed and volume. Domestic tiling — done properly — is about getting it right. That's where I want to be.
It also means you always know who's on your job. Every job is carried out by me or my relative Paul — both City & Guilds qualified, both with the same level of experience. On larger jobs we sometimes work together. No subcontractors, no apprentices left unsupervised.
